Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia)

We are pleased to announce our 2014 Spring Break Trip. This year, we are going back to Greece and Turkey. It will be the first trip back to Greece since 2007. This year, the trip will highlight Istanbul, Troy, Pergamon, Kusadai, the Greek Islands and Athens. Our trip will begin with a flight into Istanbul. From there, we will visit the sites of Istanbul including the Asasofya, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar). We will take a ferry to Canakkale and tour the Ancient City of Troy. Troy was a major city in the Bronze age and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After Troy, we will travel to Pergamon. We will visit the ruins and Acropolis of Pergamon. AFter that, we make our way to Kusadasi where we tour the House of the Virigin Mary and the Ancient city of Kusadasi.
We will board our cruise ship and tour a couple of the Greek Islands with a stop in Santorini. When we disembark in Athens, we will visit the Acropolis as well as other sites. Our 10th day will include a tour of Corinth.
This will be a once in a lifetime trip. This is our first visit to Istanbul.
The cost of the trip is $3604. It includes the round trip, the 3 day cruise between Turkey and Greece, all breakfasts and dinners. It will include all three meals while on the cruise ship. This trip includes an upgraded hotel package and upgraded meal package. Here is a link to a hotel we might stay at while in Istanbul. The Athens hotel is also an upgrade from the usual tour.
All of the teachers on this trip are experienced travelers. Mr. Sokugawa, Ms. Carey, Mr. Salatellis, and Mr. Lekakis have over 20 trips overseas with students. Furthermore, two of our teachers are fluent in Greek which will be helpful on our upcoming trip.
Students may also wish to do an Independent Directed Study (IDS) for this trip and receive up to 4 credits. See one of the teacher - chaperones for more details.
